Before completing this training, I had used StoryMaps on multiple occasions for classes across departments at Grinnell. However, since I wasn’t navigating the tool for the purpose of completing a class assignment this time, I was able to explore more some features that I hadn’t previously used before. One tool like that is the map tour, and I would like to play around with it some more. Until I read the training, I didn’t know that alternative text could be added to images in StoryMaps, so that was something else that was new for me to learn about it.
I would feel mostly comfortable helping someone learn how to use StoryMaps, since I have a fair amount of experience with it. Despite that, though, I think that the user interface makes building a StoryMap very intuitive. Esri also has many tutorials that make it easier to help someone figure out how to do what they want.
